H.M.I. Heavy Duty Ironworkers

H.M.I. Heavy Duty Ironworkers offer the most versatile press / punch of machines available today. The extra large throat depth, height and long stroke not found on many machines today allows for a huge number of uses. The infinitely adjustable stroke from zero to 6", 8", or 11" depending on the model, makes it one of the most versatile machines available for using custom punching and forming dies. Press brake tooling up to 4 feet long can be used. These machines work great as an Ironworker and as a Hydraulic Press.

Models 4214 thru 15010 have 1 foot pedal for a single operator.
Models 7031 thru 20031 are dual operation (1 pedal for punch press, 1 pedal for shear & notcher).

Options: Large hole punches up to 6" dia / Press Brake up to 48" long / Extra long stroke for punching and bending / Notcher for pipe, round tube, square tube, rectangular tube / Tube Slitter / Channel Shear to 8" / Rod Shear / Production Tables for repeat punching. Made in USA.

Ironworker

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ironworker was originally a brand name for a machine which can shear, notch, and punch holes in steel plate. The brand has now become a generic name for machines of this type.

Ironworkers generate force using mechanical leverage or hydraulic systems. Modern systems use hydraulic rams powered by a heavy alternating current electric motor. High strength carbon steel blades and dies of various shapes are used to work the metal. The machine itself is made of very heavy steel to handle the enormous force that can be generated during use. Ironworkers are rated according to the force they can generate in tons; ratings usually start at 20 tons and go as high as 150 tons.

Due to the reduction in the amount of man hours and effort needed to cut or punch steel sections, an Ironworker is often an integral part of commercial manufacturing facilities and fabrication shops. They are easily re-tooled for various operations and can be operated by one person.
